Along with the invention of computers came also the need and eventually, the high demand for computer chairs. Because of the doors which were opened by the introduction of the internet and personal computers, an individual can spend hours and hours in front of it without getting bored or running out of things to work on. People get so drawn into the virtual and in effect, this makes them forget the sitting position they are in.

Posture and ergonomics are two things which go hand in hand when people speak of sitting in front of a computer. At work, when everyone is stressed and preoccupied with a thousand and one things to do, the least that the company can offer is equip their employees with an ergonomically designed computer chair. What I meant was, you cannot possibly attain that good posture if you have a chair which is not inviting to sit on.

According the Integrated Safety Management website, ergonomics is the science of designing the job, equipment, and workplace to fit the worker. Proper ergonomic design is necessary to prevent repetitive strain injuries, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.
