If you are lucky enough to either have a walk in closet of just a simple hanging clothes rack there is not one person that I know who doesn’t like to open the door and see at a glance what is inside? I personally have had a closet that you open can’t see what you want and then throw everything back while you quickly close the door. I can tell you that it gets you down and it is always something that you will want to do straight away especially when I show you it is as easy as ABC.

A: Before you start get rid of the ugly wire coat hangers that get pulled out of shape easily and purchase the same color plastic hangers for shirts and ones that hang trousers and skirts on. Remember we are starting afresh. Remove all the contents out of the closet to start afresh organising shirts with shirts, skirts with skirts right down to shoes, belts purses etc.

B: Sort your items, there are several ways you can further arrange them but choose any way that will fit in with how you like things arranged. The way you can do this is by either arranging by color, by season, by the fit tight, fitted, loose. If the clothes are too tight and you have had them hanging for 12 months or more give them away as the clothes are taking up room in your closet. Sort by length (long, medium, short), by material silks, linens, wool, cotton, denim, etc., or by purpose every day wear, evening wear, formal wear. Shoes are easier which you can arrange by color and heel height is a popular method.
