Kitchen doors can be made from many different materials. Of course the favored material is wood, but by no means is it the only material used to craft kitchen doors. You will find a huge selection of materials to choose from.
A favored option after wood is glass insert doors. These are very attractive and very popular.
Some Styles
There are some very simple styles and the styling that you choose will largely depend on the function. For example if the sole purpose of the door is to hide the pantry than a simple accordion door might be in order. These are very simple doors that are held on by a track. There is usually a pin mechanism in both the top of the door and the bottom of the door and that pin slides across the track so that the door can open and close. The name accordion implies the action of the door. It folds instead of swinging in or out. This type of door is usually made from a material other than wood. Typically it is vinyl or some other type of material that is flexible.
Of course if it is more for security purposes than you will need a more secure style of door, for this purpose you will probably choose a wooden door. Wooden kitchen doors can actually be quite attractive, and may have glass inserts or other detailing that is popular.
Other types include frosted glass doors where the majority of it is made from glass with just a metal or a wooden frame holding the glass in place.
