If you are looking for a portable printer scanner, one choice of action for you will be to search the internet and type in the keywords “printer scanner.” You will be directed towards various multi-functional printers as well as all-in-ones. Unfortunately, a few of them will be portable. Though there is a ton of printers that have the features of a printer and a scanner rolled into one, there are only a few of these printer scanners that come in a portable package. So far, most printer scanner models come in a desktop design and they are too bulky to be considered for carrying.

Canon is able to produce a series of printers that are also capable of scanning. However, they are not advertised as printer scanners. In fact, they are advertised as portable printers. If you are familiar with Canon’s Bubble Jet series, you will know that the BJC 50, BJC55, BJC80 and BJC85 have an optional IS-12 color image scanner cartridge that you can get at any Canon Store. This optional accessory converts each of these portable printers into a portable printer scanner. These converted sheet-fed scanners are able to scan at 360 dots per inch resolution. Unlike all-in-one printers where the scanned document is placed on a layer of glass, these printers scan documents like those that they are printing. Instead of shooting out ink, it scans the document line by line.

The resolution of 360dpi is not so ideal in this generation. Although it is expected since these scanners are not flatbed scanners. Scanners that use the ADF or what is commonly called Auto Document Feeder are capable of picking up only a few details compared to flatbed scanners. Let us take for example, Canon’s all-in-one printer, MX7600. It has both a flatbed scanner and an ADF scanner. The ADF resolution is at 600dpi while the flatbed resolution is at 4800 x 9600 dpi. Compared to the later scanner models, the resolution of these printer/scanners are still in its early stages.

Shredders

” Shredders “

Shredders play an indispensable role in many applications including manufacturing, recycling, solid waste reduction, security, wastewater treatment, oil and gas production, the transportation and production of biosolids, and more. Shredding offers a multitude of benefits in addition to the most obvious – size reduction. Shredders are used for processing materials used for producing a product or fuel, protecting business intelligence by destroying confidential product or documents, recycling of product or waste and shredding solids to ensure that other equipment or processes run smoothly. Corporations, government agencies and municipalities all employ shredders.

APPLICATIONS

Some industrial applications for reducing solids include the destruction of foods, pharmaceuticals, rubber, pallets, steel and plastic drums, furniture, construction debris, tires, containers, corrugated boxes, packaging, labels, and other bulky materials. Industrial shredders are also used for the destruction of documents, x-rays, media such as hard drives and other electronics to protect the privacy of individuals and corporate information.

Municipal applications include recycling centers and smaller shredders with multiple cutting teeth for finer reduction for use in wastewater treatment plants. The recycling industry has found many uses for shredders such as shredding tires for the recovery of rubber. This recycled rubber is found in many applications and products including hot melt asphalt, basketball courts, playgrounds, and shoe products. The rubber is also used in civil engineering practices for the sub-grade insulation of roads, backfilling, and for fuel as “Tire Derived Fuel”. Scrap wood is shredded for recycling and used for the manufacture of many types of wood products such as particle board and paper. Plastic bottles are recycled into PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic chips for the production of new bottles. Recycling or reusing all of these products through shredding reduces waste in the environment, increases corporate profitability, and reduces carbon emissions.

Bubble jet, laser and inkjet are some of the common technology used in printers for commercial or personal purposes. Every printer model varies in aspects such as technology, features, functions, appearance and quality. Hence, plan your budget and determine your requirements before simply rushing out to buy any printer.

A laser copier printer is one of the best investments. Generally, it can last for a long time due to its high quality and technology. Selling one as a second-hand is not a problem. There is always some demand for such a printer for commercial or personal purposes. This is very much understandable considering its high speed, quality and clarity of printing documents.

Generally, laser copier printers are divided into two categories, mono and color. A mono laser printer only prints in black and white. However, a color printer can print in color and is very suitable for printing digital photos and images. It is much more costly than a mono printer is. A large printer using color laser technology is usually used in a digital photo shop for printing photos and images.

A laser printer uses a toner cartridge, similar to a fax machine. This cartridge can last for many months, immaterial of whether it is a color or mono one. Some laser models can print documents at one side. Other models can print on both sides and they are called as duplex printers.

A duplex printer usually has function buttons for you to choose one-sided or duplex printing. With duplex printing, there is no necessity to waste time and energy to take out the printed-paper and turn it over the side for double-side printing. You may save money as time goes on. There is less electricity used for printing.
